The fragment flow per nucleon increases with mass, following a thermal or coalescencelike behavior, and attains roughly constant limiting values at 4 # A # 12. Comparisons of the impact parameter dependences of the measured coalescence-invariant proton flow to Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck calculations clearly favor a momentum dependent nuclear mean field. Microscopic study of energy and centrality dependence of transverse collective flow in heavy-ion collisions

The centrality dependence of directed and elliptic flow in light and heavy systems of colliding nuclei is studied within two microscopic transport models at energies from 1A GeV to 160A GeV. The pion directed flow has negative slope in the midrapidity range irrespective of bombarding energy and mass number of the colliding ions. In contrast, the directed flow of nucleons vanishes and even devel...

INDRA@GSI : Collective Flow in Au+Au Collisions

Directed flow for the Au + Au reactions at incident energies between 40 and 150 AMeV has been measured using the 4π multi-detector INDRA at the GSI facility. Measuring the collective flow observables is of continuous interest mainly due to their presumed link to the nuclear matter equation of state, momentum dependence of nuclear interactions, as well as to the in-medium nucleonnucleon cross se...

The various kinds of flow phenomena such as directed flow, elliptic flow and radial flow have been observed in recent experiment at AGS and SPS [1]-[4]. Anisotropic flow phenomena are expected to show a strong dependence on the nuclear equation of state [5]. Here, for analyzing anisotropic flow phenomena with relativistic hydrodynamical model in detail, we need full calculation of (3+1)-dimensi...

Microscopic study of the p T - dependence of directed particle flow at SPS

Directed flow of nucleons and pions is studied in different pt intervals in S+S and Pb+Pb collisions at 160A GeV. For simulations the microscopic quarkgluon string model (QGSM) is applied. It is shown that the behaviour of the directed flow of hadrons with high transverse momenta diverges considerably from that of low-pt particles. Both light and heavy systems of colliding nuclei exhibit negati...

Collective expansion in central Au+Au collisions.

Energy spectra for intermediate mass fragments produced in central Au + Au collisions at E/A = 100 MeV indicate a collective expansion at breakup. For the first time, values for this collective expansion energy per nucleon are extracted independently for each charge. Typically, these values are one-third to one-half of the incident kinetic energy per nucleon in the c.m. system, but they decreas...

Isospin dependence of collective flow in heavy-ion collisions at intermediate energies.

Within the framework of an isospin-dependent Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck (BUU) model using initial proton and neutron densities calculated from the nonlinear relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory, we compare the strength of transverse collective flow in reactions Ca + Fe and Cr + Ni, which have the same mass number but different neutron/proton ratios. The neutron-rich system (Ca+Fe) is found to ...
